Help wanted
Dear reader,
Firstly, a big thank you! You are one of the few people who actually looked at my website and my blog.
Secondly, I have a small favour to ask: if either of the following apply to you then please contact me - I will be very, very grateful to hear from you!
1) You work in radio or for a radio station/group
To be honest, I’m desperate to get back into working in radio. I can...

Wine Tasting Weekend
Last night I got back from 48 hours in Bordeaux with work. I told you being a wine merchant has its perks!
I thought I’d share a few of the culinary and viticultural highlights that I would recommend you visit if you’re ever in the area.
Lunch at Le Café Lavinal The bistrot is owned by the Cazes family who own Château Lynch Bages. The food was well-presented, typical local fare...

Geeks Only
After many weeks of half-hearted attempts to try and build a custom WordPress theme, I decided to give up and try Tumblr.
The good news is that I’ve got it looking pretty much like my main website, which I struggled to do with WordPress. The only challenge now is to make Tumblr integrate seamlessly with my website, and sort out some minor CSS and design issues.
That’s for another...

Back On The Road
I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching lately and, when it comes to my career, I think I’ve lost my way a bit.
There are a lot of barriers when it comes to finding a job in radio, and after leaving University I guess I took the path of least resistance (mainly driven by a need for money) and now it feels like I’ve missed my chance.
NOTE: this post has been migrated from my...
I’ve decided I will have cream cheese & bacon bagels for breakfast tomorrow. It’s my start-of-a-new-working-month treat!

Final full day in New York. Still so much to do!
Lunch in a 50s themed diner? Oh, if I must! Plan for the afternoon: avoid the rain in the museum of natural history.
Just spent $130 on dinner for one, including a bottle of wine. My bad. Off into the night to find somewhere cheap to get more drunk :)
Spent the afternoon wandering through Greenwich Village and up to Central Park. Beats the hell out of anything else I could have done!
Off to the airport now!
Productive day today planning my next career steps, reading in the sunshine, catching up on TV and generally relaxing.
Tomorrow I am determined to get some important things done. Like food shopping, applying for a better job, and finishing season 7 of #Curb.

Watched a whole load of Arrested Development tonight. I’ve now got ‘The Final Countdown’ stuck in my head.

My trip to Paris - Part 2
Sunday 24th April 2011 - 2pm Still absolutely knackered but managed to get out and enjoy the city properly today. As I write this, I’m sat outside the Louvre. It’s 26 degrees and the entry queue under the full, unwavering glare of the sun is massive. There go my plans to spend the afternoon in an air-conditioned art gallery! Spent an hour or so walking here from the Champs...

My trip to Paris - Part 1
Saturday 23rd April 2011
I arrived in Paris last night. I was so tired and headachy when I woke up this morning that I didn’t really fancy doing anything. Breakfast at 8am was a simple affair (a croissant and some bread and jam with a cup of coffee). Went back to my room and slept for an hour which didn’t help things; I think I’m so knackered from work and need to catch up...
Chavvy neighbours 3 doors down are having a BBQ and encouraging their kids to pick horses for the Grand National. Start them young, eh?

Plan for the weekend: update my media CV and send it to as many potential employers as possible. That’ll work, right?
I promise I will actually start using this site properly soon. However,...
